2005 Christmas with the Bruns family was held at the gillar's house.. unfourtanetely i didn't take many pics and no one wanted us to get together to take the cousin pic and all that good stuff so i got a few to post... Robert and Josh decided that every xmas they are going to take a deuce picture to see how much they change.. and how different they look.. i really don't think Rob has much to change, because hair does alot to a person's look! haha

The blog is back!... for real this timE!...

Well...to start the blog off, we're going to start with my uncle's 50th birthday party.. and of course, what family event isn't the same without PICTURE TIME! (yay) ..

Here's a picture of all the cousins, minus Collin (he was crashed out).. we never really did get the full cousin pic..

At christmas time i think we will actually complete the cousin pic!..

Yes i know it has been quite a long time since i blogged... unfortunantly i haven't had the greatest month so far... college is hard- i studied all night for a chemistry quiz (the class i'm most scared about) and i got a 60!.. then i have to know every muscle in the body for AEROBICS class (i thought it would be an easy clasS)actually..i have a test in every subject next week... i was without a car for a while.. first i had to get all new tires $212... then my car starts pouring smoke from outta the hood and i find out i need a new radiator $178 .. then as i'm going to victoria from shiner my car starts jerking when i slow down... i find out it's some kind of coil and then my air flow thing is broke so that set me at like $200.. i have NO money so i couldnt pay for it so i owe a really big thank you to shannon and leo for all they did, i owe them BIG TIME.. then i had lots of pics to blog on my camera and then i hit a wrong button and it deleted them all!!... it sucks!.. here's a few though from the apartment ...

Walk around the college

Well.. today Whitney, Nicole, and I took a walk around Victoria College so we could see where our classes are so we're not TOTALLY lost on Monday... i'm sooo nervous about starting!!.. of course Nicole and I were sporting the white frames..

Oh .. by the way... Nicole and I took the job at Bath and body Works till we find something a little better with more hours.. we can make a little extra money.. it's better to be employed than to not be employed at all :) ..

Man..it's hard to write alot and post the pics... when i post the pics i forget what days we did this stuff.. lol.. I know everyone is bummed about me not blogging so much but hopefully i'll get yall some pics if nothing else :)

Tonight we all went to the Scoreboard to have some "virgin" drinks and some food.. they also had a live band so we figured we should check it out.. Needless to say we left before the band got there ... our drinks were like $5 and we didn't look soo kewl.. lol... but we had fun!..

Well... we went shopping at HEB on tuesday... Nicole and I decided to put our items together and split the cost and whit wanted different things so she bought hers.. well... nicole and I are BIG budgeters:) ..we had a basket FULL and only spent like $25 a piece so it wasn't all that bad .. The day after we went shopping we cooked our first meal... well... Nicole did... we had spaghetti.. Whitney also helped out.. she was suppose to make the salad but decided on buying an already made one instead... here's the 2 preparing our delicious meal..

I really am starting to give up on the whole job looking thing... it's useless!.. yesterday mom and i went to Victoria for my interview at The Scoreboard.. WELL... when I told her that i was iffy about working till midnight because of my schooling everyday she told me that was a problem because they DO work till midnight so i said forget it... After that i went back to the apartment for a while then we went to Citizens Medical Center and i applied there also.. All together i have applied at..

So the job interview with Bath and Body Works went great... the job not so great... i'd LOVE to work there but not only 3 hours a week with $5.65 an hour!!! They were straight forward with us they said that this job isnt going to pay bills, it's just a job to have fun and make a little extra cash.. so i stratched that idea and went to the scoreboard in the mall.. for those of you Shiner people reading... it's kinda like homeplate...it's a bar/grill in the mall but i know this guy named Tim that works there that kinda hooked me up with the job and he makes close to $100 a night so Nicole and i went there yesterday to eat and pick up an application and i got an interview Thursday at 11:00!! .. i was kinda iffy about it because i told myself i didn't want to work in a restaurant or any place with food since i've done it for soooo long but it seems like that's where the money is now-a-days.. Hopefully i'll find something out Thursday and keep yall updated .. Peace!

I should just stop blogging about what i'm gonna be doing for the weekend because it never happens..
Friday night i DID make it to the dance though.. before we all left for college all the srs of 05 went .. i rode with melissa and hillary.. we had sooo much fun!!.. i'm gonna miss those girls ALOT!..
Saturday night well.. i ended up staying at home.. Josh and I rented Guess Who and we ended up sleeping the whole time he was here..
Sunday night.. pretty much a repeat of Saturday night.. That was my fun-filled weekend :)
Oh yeah.. i almost forgot.. for those of you who don't know... i have an interview Tuesday at Bath and Body WorkS!! i'm hoping i get the job because i love that place plus.. all you do is stand around ... it's easy!.. wish me luck!

Thursday...the most boring day of my life... i stayed at home the whole entire day and night :(.. it sucks when you have an ugly donut on your car!.. Today mom and I are going to Victoria to Discount to get my tire though.. i can't wait :) It's always good when mom comes along to Victoria with me... i get to go shopping with her and she buys Me stuff:)

Anyway.. Tonight me and Whitney are going out.. GIRLS NIGHT OUT!.. I don't know what we're gonna do yet but we are THINKING about checking the dance out in hville... neither one of us have been in like FOREVER...I'm actually busy this weekend... I'm all booked up.. Tonight it's party with whitney.. tomorrow i might go to the football scrimmage with Nicole.. and then it's party with Nicole that night and then Sunday i'm thinking about going with Shannon and Bren to the lake soooo... hopefully i'll have some good pics for yall ;)

Well.. today was all going good so far.. i got up went to mastercuts, got my hair highlighted.. had lunch at Casa Ole' with Whitney, her brother Keelan, and his friend.. went shopping, then went back to the apartment, packed up our things... whit left.. i stopped by shannon and bren's to tell them bye and headed out.. WELLLL... a storm was brewing and i was thinking oh great.. i shouldve stayed and came in in the morning... i got around to yoakum and i heard this really loud bang and i swirved ... my tire blew out!!.. i was soooooo scared.. thank God Josh worked at Pohler Tire for 2 years because he came right away and helped me out.. i'm so thankful for him.. he's definitely always there for me... i'm okay though and now i'm driving on a stupid looking donut... therefore... i'm staying home today to save the embarrasment.. lol..

Detour

Today me and whit left for victoria but before we got there we made a little pit stop in Gonzales so whit could get her tattoo..now i have to admit i didn't think she was actually gonna do it but i was wrong...

After all the crazy faces she was happy with the result.. she got a cross on her foot, i know you can't see it in this pic but trust me, it's really cute!

After the tattoo we then went into Victoria through Cuero.. i told whit i was gonna buy her a big ice cream for doing so well but she kinda forgot and so did i ..lol..

Later that night we went to wal mart do get some stuff to clean the tattoo... we went and ate at the La Hacienda (great food, good service) then we went over to shannon and bren's house to chill and watch The Real World Austin.

Family Reunion

The family reunion was awesome!... i don't think i made it to the last one but i got to see family i haven't seen in a good while.. like Robyn!.. robyn if you're reading this i'm really glad we got to hang out again, it was fun catching up on everything, i hope we keep in touch and we really need to hang out with you're in Victoria!:) At the reunion we had some good food... here's one of the cooks, Bennie, him and his wife also contributed a great deal to the reunion:

We had brisket, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, and salad.. not to mention all the delicious desserts:) (yum!) At least robert thought it was good... i got a great pic of him eating.. (hopefully he doesn't put a horrible pic of me on his blog as pay back)..

Gavin also enjoyed the food if you can't tell.. (he's soooo adorable!!)

now we usually all get together and take a "cousin picture" but this was the closet we got to that... here's robyn, johnathan, and me..

Waking up from a long night of work was very exhausting... we woke up around 11:30 and went and ate lunch at montana mike's (me, josh, whit, and wes) .. the food was good but we ate a little too much.. after we ate me, nicole, and whit went shopping for a few things for the apartment (plus some clothes: TAX FREE WEEKEND!!) after shopping me and josh headed home and went to the deer lease with mom, leo, and derek.. they shot skeet and went 4 wheeling.. it was fun... here's a pic of the camp fire.. before and after..

Whitney finally got all her stuff moved in the apartment... i can honestly say that it's all coming together real well...it's starting to feel more homey. Here's a pic of me and whit in the midst of unpacking ...

well tonight was a good ole' bbq underneath the patio... while leo, derek, and josh were busy working on derek's black and silver beast, me and mom sat back and enjoyed watching them screw up ..lol..

That's derek underneath the hood with his drawers(sp?) hanging out...this might be a photo to frame.. he was actually under the hood doing something! Josh took a pic with me but he wasn't to happy about it as u can tell..

After a few Smirnoff green apples, dos equis, bud lights, and some ribeye steak we all called it a night.. i'm signing off now... leaving u a pic of Leo...

Last Day of Work

well.. today was my last day of work, kinda depressing but also awesome.. i'm going to miss everyone, i really got to know some of the old people really well and i'm going to miss visiting with them ... my co-workers were awesome as well.. Hopefully my next job is something like this one, laid back... Can't blog to much right now.. i gotta go pack for a long fun filled weekend at the deer lease!.. I'm kinda upset i'm going to miss the moulton jamboree though (haha, YEA RIGHT) ... later!

College Orientation

Nicole and i went to Victoria today for Orientation... i'm so excited about going to college now ... if i didnt go to orientation i would probably be a lil' skeptical about it but i cant wait!.. nicole, whit, and me are going sometime next week to get our student ID's so we can have full access to the weight room ;)... hopefully i'll be working out alot!.. nicole and i had to take a PE class so we picked Aerobics.. can u believe i actually had to buy a $30 book for it too!?.. I'm so thankful i received some good scholarships and grants because i didn't pay anything for my college... my whole tution cost $742 (cheaper than ANY university and u can get it all done there) ... and my books were like $406 (almost the cost of tution!!)so here's some of the classes i have to take my first semester (i have to go to class EVERYDAY)...

Introductory Chemistry
Introductory Chemistry (Lab) **I have this class with Whit**
Rhetoric and Composition (English)
First Aid
Aerobic Fitness **I have this class with Nicole**
General Psychology ***I also have this class with Whit**

I'm kinda nervous because Victoria college is the 3rd hardest college in the state and they say the nursing program is VERY hard... but me and whit (she's going into nursing also) plan to become nerds and go to tutoring if the going gets tough (lol)..

Hopefully in the end i can still keep blogging a little to keep yall updated on stuff like the move and all that good stuff... my brother is going to hook me up with a computer and if not.. i'll be down here every now and then to blog!.. This weekend Mom, Leo, Josh, Derek and i are going to the deer lease all weekend long (what a vacation) so... i'll blog about that;) Keep it real, love, Ashton

Our wild Friday all started when we went to the courtyards to check on the apartment (we DID get it and we DO move in August 1) me, whit, her mom and my mom.. anyway.. on the way back we had to pick up Shannon and Bren's dog libby to take back home to shiner..anyways... i had to hold libby and she was going crazy so i told mom to pull over so i could drive back and she could hold libby, needless to say it rain really hard on friday and mom happened to just stop in the mud (on side the road) and we got stuck!!!.. We didn't know what to do so we call Willie to come get us out with his jeep so he did and after the embarrasment was all over we made it home safe and sound... Here's a pic of the cause of all this... sweet little libby...

You know... graduating high school seems like the one thing every kid wants to do. I use to sit in class and dream about getting outta there and not having to follow the rules and listen to what the teachers would say...high school was probably the funnest thing i experienced in my life... all the friends...the ones you could go to when you needed advice, the ones you could hang out with when there wasn't anything to do around this small town, those crazy parties on the weekends that gave us something to talk about on mondays in the halls...but now it kinda sucks... i haven't seen or heard from any of my friends all summer and i'm starting to realize that everyone is starting to go their seperate ways and venture out unto the real world.. i never thought i'd have to worry about this but now i'm starting college in September.. i'm moving out August 1 and it's so surreal because now my parents won't be there for me anymore... i'm going to a whole new environment where i'll meet all new people, some that i will call my "new friends" .. even though no one will replace my friends.. the ones i grew up with for 13 years of my life.. I won't see them everyday anymore and i won't get to hear about what they did the past weekend but occasionally i'll see them at those friday night football games or when we all come home for the holidays or random weekends...10 more days and i'll be all on my own in a different city...the city i'll call home..

we FINALLY got our table!.. Mom and I have been looking and looking for a reasonable table and we went to this store in Victoria called Payless Furniture and got a really nice table for $139.. it's not a very good pic but this is it..

We picked this one because it matched the walls, the carpet and our couch.. the seats have a badge cloth so it all worked out good. We couldn't decide between that table above and this one (below) but then i started to kinda think it was as up to date (modern) as the one we picked..

i also scored a bed from g'ma... actually it was my bed at my dad's house and she's letting me have it for my apartment!.. i also checked out some furniture @ rob's place soooo... we should be pretty set.. we're still excited about the move and hope to move in on August 1 if everything checks out ok with our credit and stuff.. i'll update some more on the move;)

New Roomate!

Me and Nicole now have a new roomate... Whitney Bohuslav from Moulton... (also Josh's Brother's girlfriend).. we're so excited and ready to move in.. our move in date is August 1 and believe me, i've done started packing and buying little items here and there!.. we figured we should move in now so we can get settled in, move all our stuff in, and still have plenty of time to find work before school starts..

Well everyone... i'm sad to say that we ended up NOT going to the deer lease this weekend but i didn't get to blog because i was at josh's house alot.. Today i was off of work and i went shopping with mom for stuff for my apartment!... i'm sooooo excited!!!... i bought a bunch of stuff like utensils, a strainer(for those ramon noodles, lol) plus a bunch of other stuff... I'm looking for a bed and some dresser drawers for my room now so if anyone reads this and knows where i can get it, hook me up!!.. The word is getting around so much that we're looking for stuff that i got a call at work the other day and my brother's ex-girlfriend's mom gave us a couch and a chair for free!!..u can't beat that!... anyway.. enough of that... byE!..

Apartment News

Yesterday Nicole and I put our money down for the apartment!!.. i'm so excited... it's going to have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a fireplace, and our patio thingy is upstairs and it overlooks the pool!!.. of course we have to make sure our credit is good before we can offically call it ours but that shouldn't be a problem.. we were kinda bummed because we didn't get to look at the insides because people are putting money down on them already sooooo.. anYwAy.. Later that night....
Derek was a little on the intoxicated side when i got home and later on around 10 or so derek pulls up in front of the house and passes out for a lil while in his truck.. he inventually(sp?) comes inside walking around slowly and just starring at everything, me and josh were laughing because he turned around and INSERT HERE was written on his back... it was so funny!

Chance also was drunk... he passed out on my bed..

Everyone's better today... dErek went to work (surprisingly)and chance is running around the house.. lol.. we're going to the deer lease this weekend so i'll give yall some pics on sunday!

Today was pay day at the ole' job of mine... the pay wasn't to shabby;) .. i'm taking josh out to eat tonight since he always does the buying (i'm always broke).. I think tomorrow me and nicole are going to look at the courtyards finally, hopefully we'll like what we see and we can put a down payment on it already and this weekend i think we're going to the deer lease so i'll have some kewl pics up for yall hopefully... I was having some fun talking to people and taking pics with my webcam again.. here's what i look like today :) lol..

Mom, Leo, Derek, Josh, and I took a trip to Buda Texas to the Cabela's store. Cabela's is a huge store full of items from hunting to fishing to camping... it's HUGE!!... they had some really neat scenes that they built from the top of the building to the floor of real-life animals (stuffed) ..

This was the winter scene.. this polar bear was at least 8 feet tall.

This was the wildlife theme.. I still couldnt believe that at one point that was an actual elephant!!.. it was huge! You can also see the zebra a little in the picture.. Below is derek with some of the lions (he was hating it being in the store.. he's not the nature type but i did get him to crack a little smile lol)..

Mom was almost eaten by a BEAR!!.. no... it was fake but it sure would be funny:)

My friend Marcy and I went to Sugarland today to go shopping at the First Colony Mall.. after all the delays in traffic and constant stopping we FINALLY got there!!.. after shopping we stopped to eat at Willie's grill and icehouse.. we had to take a pic of the post next to us because they were supporting our very own Shiner beer...nasty beer, good name:)...

anyway.. we pigged out on some chicken tenderloins and water, yum!.. here's a picture of Marcy being happy as ever!! love ya marc!!

Nothing is really new in my life because ive been at the nursing home 24/7 but it'll be all worth it when my paycheck comes;)... i'm getting ready for the big half moon holidays here in shiner .. a LONG, full, fun-fested, beer drinking weekend... i'm trying to plan a trip to the beach but it's hard when i work weekends from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. I think mom and I are going to check out the courtyards (apartments) on friday.. hopefully they'll be done so we can view one .. well, gotta go rest up for work

Tonight we went to a community appreciation thing at the nursing home... let's just say we were well entertained .. they had a huge fajita supper and then good ole johnny Garner was doing the karoke, needless to say... i did't get up and sing or anything but we got a good laugh out of some of the people that did.. My day at work was fun!.. getting up at 5:15 in the morning wasn't so fun though but the day went by so fast!!.. now it's time to kick back and rest up for the next day :)

So as you can tell i have figured out a way to place the pics on here although NOW... its the image size problem i'm trying to figure out now... i actually did not figure it out all by myself, josh massie had a major part in that ;) (thanks massie!)
On the work note.. I offically start at Shiner Nursing and Rehab tomorrow as an environmental aid, i'm a little nervous but a little more NOT looking forward to waking up at 5:30 in the morning :( the days of sitting back watching MTV and doritos all day are long gone now...I'm also starting to cut back on my posting.. not everyone wants to here about a whole bunch of nothing on my blog :( .. i never do anything interesting besides WORK but then again.. this is SHINER we're talking about, a town full of absolutely NOTHING to do.. Well.. Leo's frying fish tonight and i gotta get to bed early tonight:( .. wish me luck tomorrow!!

I could get use to this... staying at home all day while everyone is out working, it's nice. I figured going back to Tandy Brands just to work one day isn't worth it so i didn't go in.. tomorrow i go through my orientation at the nursing home then i start my training with mom:) Getting this job means that i have to quit Country Corner, but being since i only worked sat. and sun. morning, its no big deal.. maybe i can work some weekday nights... tips are good:) .. Father's Day turned out alright.. we ate Ham, Greenbeans, Corn, and Leo's award winning beans...it was only us at the house because shannon couldnt make it down.. he works ALOT!.. something i could never do ..lol.. Last night me and josh watched the movie Be Cool.. it was ALRIGHT, i fell asleep towards the end so obviously it wasnt all that great. Right now i'm just at home with chance (the dog) .. and our bird...gah i hate this bird.. she flies around everywhere and always chews on everything!!... she's a bit of a drinker also (as you can tell) lol.. well.. i guess i'll go kick back and watch some tv ...what a life :)

This morning i'm recovering from a serious hangover : let's just say it doesn't feel too great. Last night, Josh, Chris, Amber, and I drank and played dominoes..toooo many coronas and shots of smirnoff vodka..i hate these mornings when it feels like you just drank a couple of minutes ago..now keep in mind that everyone in these pics are pretty hammered by now...anyway.. me and mom are going to eat at country corner.. That's me and my corona shirt:) .. i LOVE corona!!.. today during my lunch break, me and amber went to bealls and i saw it and it was really really cute plus.. it was on sale!!.. i took a pic of myself with my webcam so yall could get a look @ it.. right now i'm waiting on josh to get home, tonight me, mom, leo, josh and derek are going to eat @ country corner and then me and josh plan on renting some movies..sounds like lots of fun, huh? ;)

Today has been Super awesome so far!!... as everyone that talks to me everyday knows.. I HATE my job sooo... i went to my mom during my lunch break crying about how bad i hated it... her supervisor told me to fill out an application to the nursing home (mom's job) and mom said i most likely got the job!!:) it'll just be till i move to victoria for college but ANYTHING beats driving back and forth from Yoakum to put tags and hangers on belts for 8 hours a day!!!.. i'm sure mom is just happy as ever that i'll be working with her very soon :)

P.S. Travis -- this is for you--- I'm super super sorry for what i did, i'm a lousy friend:( ... but you can't hate Lawanda Nikaria :) Love ya Big Bro!!

Lets just say apartment searching was quite an adventure!!.. of course Nicole and I liked the first 2 that we seen and were not very skeptical about the rest..we had our hearts set on the first 2:) We like Victoria Station and the Courtyards.. we didnt get to view the courtyards but they seemed VERY promising, the people said they were "sister apartments" (vc station & courtyards) ...we ran into all kinds of interesting people .. at Tanglewood apartments we ran into a lady that was a cross of Dolly Parton and Minnie Pearl... her name: Billy Love, she was quite a character!!.. then at Casa del rio apartments... we ask the lady about security and with the shake of her head she said "people around here call me wild erp(?).. i am the security , OOOOooooKK... anyway... we go back on july 1 to see the courtyards because they have totally re-did all the rooms so it should be pretty neat! :)

This is my dog Chance, chance is doing what he does best, being lazy which is EXACTLY what i am today!... i took off work today just because well.. everyone needs a day off every once in a while :) I guess you could say i'm resting up for the big day.. today me and nicole are going to look at apartments in Victoria!!.. i'm gonna try and bring my camera to take some pics of some apartments we check out.. once again, im not quite sure how to put more than 1 pic on a day so i'll have to figure it out first... i'm really bad at posting on this thing though :|
